Some moviegoers follow the
James Bond series because of the jaw-clenching, thrill-inducing plot twists or
the gorgeous femme fatales, but quite frankly, others only go along for the
ride. That’s right: the smooth, slick curves of Bond’s famous wheels,
usually provided by Aston Martin, provide cinematic pleasure for a whole other
genre of fans.
The new 2015 movie Spectre
is no exception. With the 50th anniversary of Aston Martin’s
collaboration with film director Sam Mendes, the DB10 was born. Created
just for the latest Bond movie, the DB10 takes after the DB9 in its spacious
front grille and sloped hood, but the lowered airdam lends it a more aggressive
façade. Boasting (most likely) a 500 horsepower V-8 engine, presumably
with a 6-speed stick shift, this masterpiece is estimated to exceed 60mph in a
mere 3 seconds, topping off at roughly 200mph.
As the first Aston Martin
specifically created for a Bond film, the DB10 will not be open to the public
for sale. Instead, the 10 models in production will strictly be used for
cinematic purposes. Not just anyone could afford this Bondmobile, anyway:
it’s slated at around $500,000.
